A Night of Inspiration and Celebration: The Flames Legacy Gala at Witte Museum

Hello, OneAway nation! Today, I'm excited to share with you the incredible experience we had this past Saturday at Holy Spirit Catholic School's ‘Flames Legacy Gala’. Held at the majestic Witte Museum's Mays Family Center, this event marked a significant milestone – the school's first in-person fundraiser in almost two years. The gala's goal? To raise money for a technology infrastructure overhaul, a critical step in enhancing the educational journey of HSCS students.

🎺 A Melodic Start with Bexar Brass

The evening began with a vibrant performance by Bexar Brass, a local brass band known for their lively energy and captivating music. Their rendition of Poison by Bell Biv DeVoe was a personal highlight – it was impossible not to dance along! As guests arrived, they were greeted by this exhilarating music and had the opportunity to peruse an array of silent auction items, all contributing to the fundraiser.

💡 Illuminating the Future

The entrance, beautifully illuminated and adorned with portraits of Holy Spirit Catholic School's 8th-grade class, symbolized the bright future awaiting these students as they transition to high school.

🎉 Mardi Gras Magic

Stepping into the Mays Family Center, guests were enveloped in a Mardi Gras-themed banquet hall, complete with a spacious dance floor. Mrs. Garcia, the principal, extended a warm welcome, setting the tone for an evening of joy and generosity. Dinner was served as our own DJ Melissa Briseno from OneAway Studios provided the perfect Mardi Gras-style dinner music, enhancing the festive ambiance.

🌟 The Giving Spirit

The night's giving spirit shone through during the live auction. Unique items, from student-created artwork to exclusive experiences, sparked enthusiastic bidding. The Giving Tree was another heartwarming feature, offering guests the chance to directly support teachers by donating much-needed classroom items.

After the auctions, DJ Melissa Briseno turned up the energy, filling the dance floor in no time. Her dynamic music selection and vibrant energy kept the party going, creating an atmosphere of pure celebration.

OneAway Studios brought the event to life with fantastic music and a Photo Booth, ensuring guests could capture and cherish their memories of the night. A highlight was our sponsored 360 Video Booth and event videography – a first-time experience for many, including myself, and an absolute hit with the guests!
